The more things change, the more we need natives! After many years of gardening (aka experimenting) with perennials and shrubs in the Southeast, Paula Gross has come to appreciate the staying power of many of our beautiful native plants. Join Paula in heralding my favorites, see which you are already growing (more than you think!), and make a few new botanical friends to enliven your home habitat.
Paula Gross is the former Associate Director of the UNCC Botanical Gardens and currently teaching at Davidson Green School. Paula co-authored with Dr. Larry Mellichamp what is considered by many to be the best book on native plants for our area, titled The Southeast Native Plants Primer. They also wrote Bizarre Botanicals.
